Taiwan Summer Solstice 235

An Emerald on the Tropic of Cancer

With the Tropic of Cancer crossing its mid-south, Taiwan becomes a beautiful island blessed with both tropic and subtropical natural views and agricultural produce. Such an advantage is used by the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transport and Communications to launch the “Taiwan Summer Solstice 235” in 2013. This year, encouraged by its zealous participants, the event is to kick off again with a title called “An Emerald on the Tropic of Cancer.” Summer elements, such as coolness, serenity, and energy-saving are incorporated to present this event in many parts of Taiwan at a larger scale, including six national scenic areas(East coast, East Rift Valley, Alishan, Siraya and Southwest Coast) and eight counties and cities (Kaohsiung City, Tainan City, Chiayi City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Hualien County and Taitung County). These places’ administration agencies will also organize side events so that visitors can learn more about the Tropic of Cancer and its relation with Taiwan in addition to bathing in scenery.
