Bureau to launch new “i SMART” mobile tourist service

Taiwan’s “i-center” tourist service system has just been upgraded! The Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transport and Communications has recently launched mobile technology-inspired “Mobile Tourist Info” to give timely, thoughtful services to visitors outside of tourist centers.

A Smart Travel Style that Take Taiwan by Storm
Mobile Tourist Info is a program designed to improve services in Taiwan’s 13 national scenic areas. Each area is equipped with two service routes and service staffs will be providing five smart services(Share Wifi、Map Pamphlet、Assist Photograph、Recommended schedule、Travel Consultation) at popular tourist sports during peak visiting hours, using information and communications technology. Visitors can easily have their needs satisfied through Mobile Tourist Info, such as finding basic tourist info, getting travel advice, using Wifi networks, sharing travel ideas online, swiping QR codes, exploring the areas through online maps and recommended itineraries, and even getting a helping hand for taking travel photos. All visitors are encouraged to ask the Mobile Tourist Info staffs for some help.

Just like a vast number of visitor centers established by the central government throughout the country, as well as info points set up together with private businesses, “Mobile Tourist Info” is ready to offer timely assistance in the 13 national scenic areas, with a list of recommended tourist options. By using the service, visitors can expect to explore and fall in love with Taiwan, step by step.

Not Just Thoughtful – A Unique Service
Mobile Tourist Info is featured by an “ask i" logo, which not only means to “ask for information” but also points out how hospitable Taiwan is, as if it were saying “ask me! ask me!” The Mobile Tourist Info staffs are all dressed in bright yellow uniforms, so that visitors can easily find them when in need of assistance. With a total of 26 service routes at the 13 national scenic areas of Taiwan, the convenient Mobile Tourist Info shall soon become the country’s new tourist highlights.
