Li Chuan Aquafarm
In 1963, a young person in his thirties led his entire family to leave their hometown of Yunlin, and go to Taitung where they would undertake grueling land reclamation. After eight years, this young person, having already entered the prime of his youth, had a new dream, to come to Hualien, and start a clam breeding business at the new river area of Shoufeng Township, where the rivers interweave like a web. This was done both to express gratitude to his family, and to set up a river-related business. Thus, this place was named "Lichuan Fisheries" (meaning "located at the river").
After many years, as breeding production techniques and professional management have continued to increase in innovation, the tiny, insignificant clam is now able to be bred to full size, resulting in a fresh taste, and a golden luster on its shell. This creation is called the "Golden Corbicula Clam". The young person who single-handedly established Hualien's "Lichuan Fisheries" not only had the honor of winning the "Provincial Farmer's Association Award" for being one of ten outstanding farmers, but also became a nationally famous professional fish breeder.
10 years ago, Lichuan successfully developed the "Li Chuan " golden clam essence, which acquired recognition as a "GMP Product" and proof of being a "CAS Superior Farm Product". Since then, other products have been created, such as clam tablets, clam crystals, and clam jiansu. These products add output value to the traditional breeding products.
The success of Lichuan Fisheries lies not only in the innovative breakthrough of its breeding technology, but also in the superior environment that is exceptionally rich in natural resources.
