“2019 Yufu Runway -The Harvest Fashion Show”

Creative designs shining through the runway fashion show specifically in East Rift Valley

The 2nd annual “Rice-fields’ Good Earth Runway Show” took place on Saturday, the 19th of October 2019, at the old Dongli Cycling Station. The event program was organized and sponsored by the East Rift Valley National Scenic Areas of the Tourism Bureau, which liaised with the Eelin Catwalk.

The background of the runway, which is amazingly eye-catching, was the harvest season’s golden rice-fields! And the created designs were mostly inspired by local environments from participating designers. The surrounding picturesque old Dongli Railway Station was decorated by the dynamic artist Yiyou Gerzao, whose displayed artworks included “Dew,” and Paiwan artist Shanhua Shieh, who used tribal gourmet food preparations as display art.

The event program this year consisted of the Aboriginal Rap Group BOXING, the popular singer Luji Huangli, drum music from Chengbin High School, and the Puyuma Aboriginal Tribal Music Group. The highlight of the fashion show emphasized sustainability in the local community, gloriously connected with agriculture, culture, and biodiversity living environments for the concepts and elements of design. In addition, there were open markets featuring award-winning aboriginal cuisines representing six Aboriginal Tribal Villages under the theme “Aboriginal Feast on Tribal Travelling”, from selected tribes in the East Rift Valley areas.

The evening program was enchanted by bright and colorful lighting shows in the golden rice fields and included individual groups contributing their own creative thoughts to the fashion catwalk. The event made the rural village of Dongli flash out with creativity and colors, bringing joy to all visitors who gained unforgettable and diverse experiences.
