The East Rift Valley National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) called for a collection of photographic works on "The Beauty of Hualien-Taitung in My Eyes" via the Internet, encouraging the public to document and share the charm of eastern Taiwan through in-depth tourism. The event attracted more than 1,500 submissions of work in just one short month, and the 35 winning works are exhibited via physical exhibition from the 22nd of October. Kai-Zheng Yang, Chief of Legislator Kun-Chi Fu's Office, along with the best marketing spokespersons of the East Rift Valley this year: the internationally renowned designer Daniel Wong, Internet celebrity "City Surfer" Johanna, and the winners of the photo exhibition, were invited to the press conference.

Chen-Ling Kuo, Director of the Administration, said that this photo exhibition specially cooperated with coffee shops in Taipei, aiming to introduce the beauty of Hualien-Taitung to the public through remote marketing, and also in a warm and literary way. By creating a contrast between traveling and chilling out in eastern Taiwan, as depicted in the winning works, against the hustle and bustle of the urban environment, the idea of vacationing in Hualien-Taitung may grow in the minds of visitors to the exhibition. The charm of eastern Taiwan will heal and de-stress one's body, mind and soul, even more so during the pandemic period!

Director Kuo further stressed in his speech that these works represent the effort and ingenuity of the photographers, as well as their mastery of the times and places for capturing these wonderful photos, and expressed his appreciation to these photographers for letting more people see the beauty of Hualien-Taitung. Moreover, other than soliciting photography works, the "Roaming Hualien-Taitung Bingo" co-launched with Doweing App to continue the summer travel boom, has effectively become a "digital tour guide" for domestic travelers traveling in Hualien and Taitung. The App attracted nearly five hundred downloads in just two months, and helped more people to suitably plan their holiday travel to beautiful eastern Taiwan during this pandemic period.
