The charming East Longitudinal Valley Fenglin Recreation Area will open for the first time! The East Longitudinal Valley National Scenic Area Administration plans to host the two-day East Longitudinal Valley Grand Camping event starting at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The event will feature various activities, including camping, a market, and concerts. Everyone is invited to Hualien and Taitung in autumn to enjoy this seasonal grand event in the fields.

Fenglin Recreation Area welcomes you into the nature of Hualien and Taitung at the easiest distance
The Fenglin Recreation Area is located at No. 100, Zhongyi 1st Road, Fenglin Township, Hualien County. It is conveniently situated right off Provincial Highway 9, approximately 9 kilometers away from Fenglin Railway Station.—a mere 15-minute drive. Covering an expansive 48 hectares, only about one-third of the land has been developed, while the remaining area remains in its pristine forest state. Surrounded by undulating mountains and dense forests, the moment you step into the area, you’ll be greeted by an open view of grasslands and hills. This stark contrast with human insignificance fully reflects the natural magnificence of Hualien and Taitung. Prepare for an impactful and healing experience.

The campground is designed according to the FICC (Federation International de Camping et de Caravanning) 4-star standards. It boasts over 60 campsites, each equipped with cooking pavilions, showers, and toilets. Additionally, every individual campsite features its own sink. Beyond the development of grasslands, hills, and campsites, the Mataian River’s water was channeled to create an artificial lake. Enhanced by atmospheric music, the Valley’s stores will be organized into five main categories: highlight shops, local produce vendors, Valley delicacies, handcraft workshops, and tribal features. Attendees can expect a cozy and tasteful fun fair experience. Even those who enter for free and simply attend the fair are guaranteed to have a great time.

On the evening of October 19, a campfire party specially organized for campers will feature singing performances under the starry sky, accompanied by late-night snacks. The morning of October 20 will offer guided bird-watching tours and plant interactions.
