The 2025 Regional Tourism Alliance Market – East of Taiwan Theme Day kicked off on the 17th at Huashan 1914 Creative Park. Distinguished guests including Director-General Chen Yu-Hsiu of the Tourism Administration, Legislator Chuang Jui-Hsiung, Legislator Chen Ying, and Li Shu-Cha, Chief Convener of the East Longitudinal Valley Tourism Alliance, attended the opening ceremony.
The three-day event (October 17–19) is jointly organized by the East Longitudinal Valley National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications; and the East Coast National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications. It brings together 70 vendors from the East Longitudinal Valley and East Coast Tourism Alliances, offering a comprehensive “food, accommodation, travel, shopping, and transportation” experience. A highlight of the event is the specially designed “Hualien–Taitung Travel Center,” serving as an information hub featuring diverse travel itineraries and accommodation offers in the Hualien–Taitung region. Visitors can scan a QR code on-site to place orders or access travel information—making it easy to explore local highlights and plan their trips.
Director-General Chen Yu-Hsiu of the Tourism Administration stated: “All participating vendors at the Market Day are businesses nurtured in recent years by the Tourism Alliances guided by the Valley Headquarters and the East Coast Headquarters. From signature delicacies and specialty souvenirs to accommodations and tour packages, this event fully presents the distinct charm of Hualien and Taitung, allowing Taipei residents to immerse themselves in the region’s mountain-and-sea scenery and relaxed ambiance. We welcome everyone to join us during these three days—not only to shop for quality goods from Hualien and Taitung, but also to plan your next journey there and learn about the region’s best offers. To attract even more visitors, the Administration is also collaborating with the East of Taiwan Tourism Alliance to launch two special campaigns from November 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026: the ‘East Longitudinal Valley 1+1 Happiness’ and ‘Happiness from Hualien–Taitung! Thank You for Your Support! Monthly Lucky Draw.’ Guests who stay two consecutive nights at participating hotels or B&Bs can enjoy special three-day, two-night package rates—NT$4,999 for hotels and NT$3,800 for B&Bs. Travelers are encouraged to visit, stay, and explore Hualien–Taitung, taking advantage of discounts on food, lodging, travel, shopping, and transportation. There’s even a chance to win prizes such as a car, gold beans, electronic products, and Hualien–Taitung accommodation vouchers—making every trip filled with joy and surprises.”
In addition to the market, the three-day event also features a vibrant stage program. The “Voice of Hualien–Taitung” performances will showcase ten groups, including famous singer Shen Wencheng, Ponay’s Cover, and the Chu-Yin Cultural Arts Troupe, performing in turn. The culinary segment, “My Hualien–Taitung Travel Journal – Chef Ah-Hong’s Kitchen,” features celebrity chef Chen Hong, who will demonstrate creative dishes made with seasonal local ingredients from Hualien and Taitung, offering a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Visitors can also take part in four themed hands-on experiences—Art, Aroma, Brew, and Bamboo—which bring the scenery, culture, and flavors of Hualien–Taitung to Taipei. Through crafting, storytelling, and tasting, participants can experience the unique aesthetics of everyday life in Hualien–Taitung—appreciating the interplay of mountains, sea, and culture even in the heart of the city.
To reward shoppers, a consumer rewards program will be available during the market. Visitors who spend over a set amount will receive limited-edition gifts and a chance to win Hualien–Taitung accommodation vouchers, encouraging them to explore the region and enjoy an even more complete travel experience beyond the market.
